NURS 540 - Psychiatric Mental Health NP: Theory and Clinical Management III

7.00 credit hours
This course emphasizes the integration of diverse skill sets to effectively manage psychiatric disorders and mental health issues across the lifespan. It incorporates current research and epidemiological trends in psychiatric care into clinical practice, encompassing screening, assessment, diagnosis, treatment and medication management for diverse patient populations. Students will engage in a 175 hour practicum, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to apply assessment and intervention methods that support patients in achieving and regaining optimal mental health. Students will learn to establish and maintain appropriate personal and professional boundaries while identifying and utilizing diverse professional and therapeutic resources for their patients.
