NURS 532 - Advanced Practice Nursing in Family Practice Patients Synthesis

3.00 credit hours
This family practice synthesis course is the capstone course requiring independent clinical management of patients with acute and chronic illnesses across the lifespan. This supervised care will be coordinated with an inter-disciplinary approach, in addition to patient and family decision-making. The advanced practice registered nurse will synthesize all elements of clinical management and skills and knowledge and continue to analyze, apply, and evaluate diverse aspects of patient assessment and healthcare intervention. Focus topics include clinical management skills, case studies, chart reviews and practice critique, with a capstone product evidencing increasing complex clinical management skills. At the conclusion of this synthesis course, the advanced practice registered nurse will be prepared for entry into clinical practice providing primary healthcare across the lifespan upon successfully passing a national certification for the family nurse practitioner. Practicum preceptors will be approved.
