BIOL 109 - Genes and Our Genetic Future4.00 credit hours Exploration of genetics and its medical, social and ethical implications. The science behind advances in genetic technology such as screening for genetic diseases, DNA fingerprinting, stem-cell therapy, genetically modified organisms and gene therapy is discussed in the context of the increasing importance of these technologies in modern society. Includes integrated laboratory experience.
