ENGL 372 - History of the English Language4.00 credit hours A study of the external and internal history of the English language from Old English to contemporary English. Students explore the historical evolution of major regional and social varieties of English and examine the question of usage in the context of sociocultural change.
Prerequisite(s): ENGL 270 recommended.
