EDUC 228 - Elementary Methods: Social Studies4.00 credit hours Introduction to methods of teaching social studies in the elementary classroom including instructional and assessment strategies. Emphasis on direct teaching, interactive instructional strategies and assessment strategies that develop the skills and processes needed to help elementary students acquire foundational, conceptual and procedural knowledge.
Prerequisite(s): EDUC 101 or EDUC 196 ; PSYC 100 and a U.S. History course. Concurrent enrollment in EDUC 260 and EDUC 291 .
