MOCT 535 - Geriatric Assessment and Intervention 3.00 credit hours This laboratory course introduces the student to the role of the occupational therapist working with geriatric populations experiencing disabilities that impair function. Students learn the evaluation and treatment of geriatric disorders and their impact on occupational performance areas and components. Laboratory sessions emphasize the application of intervention theory, evidence based practice and treatment techniques for specific conditions. The course focuses on disabilities commonly associated with the geriatric population and techniques used to restore, maintain, modify and prevent disability.
Prerequisite(s): MOCT 533 and MOCT 534 .
