Being Human

What does it mean to be human? What is distinctive about us compared to animals or machines? Being Human asks students to think about the nature of people, examining our identities, capacities, and purposes of the self and others. Students explore a range of biological, psychological, and cultural expressions of the human experience, while also imagining futures where “being human” may look quite different. Understanding and appreciating the beauty and complexity of being human helps students develop an awareness of themselves and the broader world around them.
