The School of Education and Health Sciences offers a number of programs which provide students a spectrum of perspectives, building broad connections between a liberal arts based foundation and their majors. All programs in the departments of Education  and Kinesiology  are built on this foundation, preparing students to contend with a constantly evolving workplace by instilling non-discipline specific intellectual skills such as the ability to think critically, communicate and problem solve in real-life situations. Major programming in Elementary and Secondary Education, Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Sport Management and Teaching Physical Education K-12 allows students to develop competency in intercultural effectiveness, research skills and the implementation of evidence-based best practices. Each program features a unique blend of theory and hands-on experience, requiring supervised field experiences such as internships, clinical rotations and practicums, and student teaching. Faculty members bring diverse experiential backgrounds to the classroom daily. These active scholars encourage undergraduate research and a spirit of inquiry. The blend of the North Central College liberal arts core foundation and professional coursework prepares students to be independent thinkers, leaders and life-long learners.
