Middle Eastern and North African Studies

Mission Statement

The Middle East and North African Studies program is an interdisciplinary minor that enables students to acquire critical language skills and an area studies focus that will distinguish them upon graduation and expand their employment options in the corporate world, academia, international organizations, non-profits and NGOs.

The Middle East and North African Studies Minor offers a course of study that applies the disciplines of language, history, literature, the arts, the social sciences, religion and cultural studies to the development of knowledge and skills needed to equip our students to be effective citizens and agents, locally and worldwide. The minor also provides a strong academic foundation for students wishing to pursue further study and professional opportunities that depend upon an advanced understanding of the Middle East and North Africa.
