Mission Statement
The mission of the Computer Science and Engineering Department is to create effective problem solvers who understand and can apply the principles of computer science and engineering to meet the needs of society.
The Computer Science and Engineering Department offers undergraduate curriculum that follow curricular recommendations by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Our programs are developed and continuously reviewed according to ABET guidelines with input from various constituents including industry advisors as well as alumni.
All of our programs share the following characteristics:
- A focus on building strong foundational concepts with emphasis on hands-on learning and applications;
- Development of strong problem-solving skills leading to the construction of effective problem solutions;
- Development of effective communication and group work skills;
- Industry-relevant projects through both traditional coursework as well as co-curricular activities.
