HIST 372 - Cold War in Asia4.00 credit hours Explores the dramatic responses in Asia to the end of World War II, and the emerging split between liberal and communist regimes. Considers the ways that this split fueled conflicts such as the Korean and Vietnam wars, and created distinct economic and diplomatic networks centered on the Soviet Union, China and the United States. Attention will also be given to the legacy of this era, including ongoing economic and territorial disputes between Asian nations.
Prerequisite(s): Junior standing or HIST 200 . Cardinal Directions Designation(s): Writing Intensive, Global Understanding.
