NURS 508 - Advanced Pharmacology, Pathophysiology and Physical Assessment for the Advanced Nursing Practice Specialist 4.00 credit hours This course is designed to prepare the advanced nursing practice specialist with a comprehensive foundation of advanced pathophysiology, advanced pharmacology and advanced health assessment concepts. Students will learn to utilize the tenants of person-centered care to foster a collaborative, belonging relationship with a diverse patient population across the lifespan. Clinical exemplars are used to assist students to integrate knowledge of pathophysiology, pharmacology and assessment concepts for providing evidence-based care with diverse multi-generational populations. Ethical, legal, safety and cultural considerations of care are discussed, along with role and responsibilities of interprofessional team members. Learning experiences will include 50 simulated clinical hours to achieve course learning outcomes.
