MEDI 261 - Sports Media

4.00 credit hours
This course introduces students to sports media as an industry and as a career. Students learn about the distinct roles played by reporters, athletes, coaches, sports information directors, teams, athletic conferences and league officials in the creation and dissemination of sports news and narratives. They study the factors that have contributed to the rise and popularity of a sports media globally. They develop practical skills in interviewing, reporting, covering athletic events, working with statistics as they produce sports stories and coverage for a variety of different media and platforms.

Prerequisite(s): CARD 101  and CARD 102  or equivalent.
