NUTR 420 - Nutrition Education and Counseling4.00 credit hours Various strategies are explored to assist individuals in making changes to health behavior related to food and nutrition with emphasis on nutrition education and counseling. Approaches are based on theoretical behavior change models, teaching and learning styles and other behavioral concepts. Students will actively apply techniques through case studies, hypothetical situations and supervised counseling opportunities. Application of principles will occur through group nutrition education exercises and direct interactions with clients.
Prerequisite(s): NUTR 315 .
