NUTR 101 - Introduction to Nutrition and Health4.00 credit hours Introduces the role of nutrition in human biological systems as related to human health. The types of nutrients in foods, their properties and interaction with genetics, the environment and health risk are addressed. Human nutrient requirements and the composition of healthy diets are also discussed within a cultural context. How nutritional guidelines are developed, assessed and the role of the nutritional professional in health promotion is also explored
