ENGL 332 - Multicultural American Literature4.00 credit hours Emerging from a history of colonization, slavery and mass immigration, American culture is multiple and its literary landscape diverse. Students explore that diversity through the works of Latinx, Asian-American, African-American and/or Indigenous writers, examining the complexity of “American” identity as it is defined and contested. What happens when different cultures collide? How do historical, linguistic, philosophical and artistic traditions shape literary form and content? Culture and Identity.
