COMM 287 - Advanced Public Speaking4.00 credit hours Building upon the fundamentals learned in COMM 100 , students refine their skills in impromptu, manuscript and extemporaneous speaking in applied settings. The class includes communication theory as well as speech preparation and delivery techniques for speeches that include variations of informative, persuasive and special occasion speeches, as well as emphasis on oral interpretation of texts. This advanced skills course serves Communication majors as well as other students who are seeking to improve their presentation skills.
Prerequisite(s): CARD 102 or COMM 100 . Cardinal Directions Designation(s): Arts.
